On the 27 th of April Room 9 went to the Life Education Van. We played a game called Word Sports, the whole class enjoyed it a lot. This game taught us that you should stand up straight, give eye contact and always be happy when you talk to someone . After that we did a jigsaw puzzle showing different types of drugs and how the drug gets into your body e.g. eye drops, panadol, injection and cream.
Near the end Richard brought out Harold. Harold is a giraffe, he is very cheeky and funny. When Harold had his medicine he spat it every where, for example Harold spat it into Charlotte’s mouth and then Kellie’s ear. At the end Richard did some magic tricks for us and he turned all the lights off and fluro lights turned on and everything white went purple. Kellie’s bandage went purple and Charlotte’s shoes went purple. We also did a quiz to test what we knew about drugs.
At the end Harold kissed people’s checks and bit our hair, it was very funny. We all said thanks to Richard and Harold . Then we left and said goodbye, by the time we got back to the class room we where still giggling. It was one good day.
We learnt that the little rocket (the really small cans) of Redbull and V have the same amount of caffeine as in 3 and a half cans of coke. Wow, that’s a lot.
Richard told us where drugs can effect your body and it is basically every where. We found that cream is a drug and that food, water and oxygen are NOT drugs. Drugs can be VERY bad for you!!! If you are taking medicine you need to make sure that you take the correct amount.
